I just saw this on TPM:
Sue Everhart, chairwoman of the Georgia Republican Party, told the Marietta Daily Journal in a story published Saturday that once gay nuptials are legally permitted, there will be nothing to stop a straight person from exploiting the system in order to claim marital benefits.

Marriage for Profit is a tradition years in the making.
Marriage has often…well…usually been about exploitation of some kind by some one. Maybe you’ll get a cow, maybe you’ll get a chicken, the title to an estate, the status of a higher up or the status of not being “unmarried”, So what if everyone now gets a chance to participate, no matter who? Don’t straight people already “exploit” the system even though gay nuptials is not, for the most part, already legal? GEEZ!
And don’t give me that argument about procreation…are heterosexual couples that can’t produce not entitled to the profitable benefits of marriage?
